Recevac 5x100 is a disposable set designed to fraction blood, plasma or physiological solutions in a sterile environment. Its components are made of medical grade plastic and are non-toxic and non pyrogenic.

Use

Recevac 5x100 is a set designed to optimize the use of blood components to allow their fractioning into smaller volumes in order to administer them to pediatric patients and take advantage of the larger volumes usually donated by an adult.

Usually, a pediatric patient does not need the complete amount of blood donated by an adult (500 ml), having to discard the non used remains as the blood collecting bag has already been punctured.
The Recevac 5 X 100 allows the Blood Collecting Facilities to fraction large donations more cost-efficiently and with less waste.

How does it work?

Recevac 5x100 is a set formed by 5 bags of 100 ml capacity each that are joined together by medical extension tubes to a spike. This spike is punched into the bag that contains the solution to be fractioned which, once it starts to flow into the extension tubes, must be distributed into the 5 smaller bags. This is controlled with the use of slide clamps that do not allow a greater flow into any bag than the one desired.

Once the solution has been distributed into the 5 bags and these have been isolated with the slide clamps the tubes can be sealed with an HCD Haemonetics sealing system or a similar one. The bags can then be used as required. Each bag of the Recevac 5x100 set has a universal port that allows a transfusion set spike entry.
